Explorer icons superimposed to files and folders ones (CDs only)

Dear All:
First details: My system is a Laptop with XP Home edition.

A couple of times it happened that for some strange reason, my files and
folders on CDs show a BIG Internet Explorer icon superimposed over the
standard ones.

On either "Details", "List", "Icons" and "Tiles" view, I cannot see the
normal icon. On "Thumbnails" view, I can see the normal icon, with the IE one
on the bottom left corner of it (superimposed of course...).

I have not installed any new software recently, so a system restore did not
solve the issue. This smells like something you can easily solve by tweaking
the registry, but I rather follow an expert advice on this...

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try the Repair Icons option in TweakUI:

Good Luck, Ayush.

Oops.

The TweakUI solved the issue, but after rebooting, the problem reappears. It
seems that something "resets" the icons to the wrong status..

Any clues?
