Hello - Lately, Windows Explorer has been hanging, but I have no idea why.
It sometimes happens when I attempt to do a copy from one directory to
another. Other times, when I try to run or do a Properties of a Desktop
item. How can I fix or debug what is going on? I have XP SP2.

Thanks,

I do know if this is of any help, but I recently had problems deleting,
copying and moving files with Windows Explorer. It turned out that there was
a conflict caused by PowerDesk Pro 7. If you have this program installed, you
might want to try to uninstall it. Good luck - it can be very hard to
pinpoint these problems, but Bob I had a lot of good suggestions in this
forum!

you can test issues with performance
via the safe modes.

if the problem isn't present in the
safe modes,

then the first step is to initiate a
clean boot while in safe mode.

then reboot and see if the performance
has improved in normal mode.

----------------------

to access the diagnostics boot menu,
hold down the f8 key during booting
to pull up that special boot menu.
