Explorer hangs or crashes

Ok, basically, when i select a movie file or audio file in
explorer, it comes up with a preview in the left pane of
explorer, this is now causing my explorer to hang or
crash, does anyone know how to fix this or turn this
feature off??? Thanks.
 
You can always set Windows to classic view. That will stop the Windows Media Player preview. Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options... | General | check the radio buttons which correspond to "classic."
