Explorer hangs on start until a CD AutoPlay engages??

Wierd! I can not figure it out. I'm running XP PRO.

I was having a problem with Autoplay and installed the diagnostic fix
program and restored Autoplay.

This IExplorer problem has been ging on for sometime. Also other system
programs will not launch. 3rd party programs will and so will control panel.
Does not matter if I mannually connect the dial-up connection or allow
IExplorer to handle it.

Everything "unlocks" and launches once any CD is placed in the dirve and
AutoPlay engages??

Anyone have a clue??

Hi Sam,

Without knowing exactly what the tool corrected.....

Changing how AutoPlay reacts when you insert a CD:

Open Explorer, right-click on your cdrom drive,
Click the Auto Play tab and Select the desired option.

Also, in the root directory remove any autorun.inf's listed.

If this still doesn't help, go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 /i
shell32

Post back with your results and good luck!
