I use the Details view in the Explorer. Somehow, some of
the file names are being displayed in blue and then some
are being displayed in black. This appears to be true
across most of my folders. Very strange. How do I change
the color of the font such that everything is black again?

Win XP will automatically compress files that do not get used frequently and
display those files in blue.

You can change this. Open Windows Explorer and click Tools/Folder
Options/View/Advanced Settings. Remove the check mark from the "Show
encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color" option.

Blue means compressed by default and green means encrypted. You may change
the color or change the Explorer settings not to display in colors.
