Explorer.exe Problems

Whenever I click on a file or folder Windows seems to pause for a few
seconds and then the whole of my desktop disappears. Ctrl-Alt-Del shows
Explorer using 100% cpu, this lasts for about 2 mins then the desktop
reappears. Why? Does anyone know a fix? I've had a look on MS site but
cannot find anything relevant.

TIA

Are you running XP?

I had this problem on an XP machine recently. I uninstalled Office XP and
reinstalled it, and the problem went away.

Do you have trouble right clicking on files or folders?

Yes m8 it's running Xp. Don't have Office installed. Certain mp3 files if I
right click on them won't open and as I've mentioned, the desktop eventually
disappears.
