explorer.exe error

my computor has started to freeze up on me. when i check
firther information on the error box it reads as folows.
AppName: Explorer.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: ntdll.dll
Modver: 5.1.2600.1106
Offset: 00002b6a

i am running windows xp pro with a pentium 3 and 320 meg
of memory. and a 40 gig hard drive.

is there anyone out there that can help me to stop my
computor freezing all the time.i have to hit the reset
button to get it working again.i have run
spybot.ad.aware.cws.shredder ran my antivirus which i
keep up to date there are no viruses on my machine.

looks like i may have solved this problem myself. i ran
the system file checker sfc /scannow and reset my
firewall to the default settings. dont know why or how
this should help me but it apparently did . i should have
remembered to run the file checker sooner but when your
close to the problem you tend to forget sometimes. anyway
people, remember to run the file checker when your comp
has a problem. not saying it will cure it but it shouldnt
do any harm. maybe one of the techie people would like to
comment further on this. all the best Jim.
