explorer.exe error

when i start computer and logon to windows I get an
explorer.exe error message and after clicking off the
error message the screen comes up but all of my icons are
gone and i can't acces anything. ctrl-alt-del gets me
into task manager and I can go on-line through that but
nothing else works.

Try the system file checker tool, click start, run, and

type in this; sfc /scannow with that space, and it runs
as windows file protection, and may need your XP CD.

i can't get to start even, nothing comes up
