This is an nVidia card driver. Do you have such a graphics card, if yes,
try removing and reinstalling the drivers. If you recently updated those
drivers, try rolling back to the previous drivers you used with the card.

To rollback, assuming that is the issue, open Control Panel, open System, go
to the Hardware tab, click Device Manager, click the plus sign next to
display adapters, right click, select properties, go to the Driver tab and
click Roll Back Driver.

Hi.
Just want to say that I have exactly the same crashes with the same versions
of explorer.exe and nvcpl.dll. So when did this start for you, when did you
uppgrade to nvidia v56.72 and did you uppdate on windows uppdate recently?

Which geforce graphicscard do you have? Mine is ASUS v8440. I tried to
unistall my display driver and reinstall the same version (56.72) clean
again but it did not help. Still get the crashes. Allthou you should try it
if you did not uninstall your old display driver before installing v56.72.

I've started another thread in this conference with subject "Windows XP
(explorer.exe) keeps crashing and restarting" but haven't gotten a definite
answer yet.

Also I found two others that have exactly the same thing and have asked
about it on these two links

Tell us if you find the solution. I'll tell you if I find it.

Good luck / Bill
