I am having a issue with my explorer.exe process going
throught the roof when ever I try to open my computer. I
have installed service pack 1a and have rebooted many
times. No matter what i do when ever i try open my
computer it goes to 99% and never opens. I then have to
kill the process. Even after I reboot the same thing
happens.

Sounds to me that you have Malware,Adware, or somesore of "bad"wae
installed I had that problem once. What you need to do is download a
program named HIJackThis and run it. IT will display Adware,Malware
and you can fix your CPU usage from there. I once had the same
problem. :)
