explorer error kernal32.dll & wmpdxm.dll

Both of the above are coming up when starting explorer.

This also does not allow windows updates to complete. The
download occurs but does not finish.

Unable to locate the correct fix on the Microsoft site for
both Windows Me and Windows 98
