explorer doesn't work

Hi
The problem is whenever i try to open explorer in xp,
either to go on the internet or browse the computers
folders, it does not open. The message is 'Internet
explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for any inconvenience'. I am currently using
real media browser for the internet, which is rubbish.

This problem first developed after we recieved the
blaster worm. This has now been removed and there is no
virus on the computer. However, explorer still doesn't
work.

I have tried installing patches, upgrading the explorer,
uninstalling and re installing, and the repair option.
still no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to get explorer working
again?

Cheers,
Graham

Your AV program is not going to catch everything.
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org
Ad-aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
It is recommended every computer have both programs (or
alternatives) on top of your Anti-Virus Program
Make sure they are always updated and run them regularly,
especially after you have downloaded a program or your
computer/browser begins acting different/strange.

Assuming you don't have the above programs, download both
of them and run them. BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
UPDATE BOTH PROGRAMS BEFORE YOU RUN THEM.
