Explorer clear history doesn't work.

I am running xphome (SP2) on a Vaio, using Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180
with 128 bit encryption.

When I try to clear the history of visited sites (I have 0 in the number of
days to keep info) the details disappear from the "Today" list, but not from
the other three. Also, when I restart IE, the Today list miraculously
re-appears.

The only way to clear the list seems to be to delete each url individually.
As I use the computer for Internet banking, I'd like to ensure that the
sites are cleared. I use Evidence Eliminator to clear the info regularly,
but would also like IE to work properly.

Any suggestions - thanks.
