Clearing Search History

Hi,

I'm not sure if I found the exact place to post this question, but here goes.

You know in Start there's a Search option, where you can search for
documents, files and folders. Well whenever I make a search starting with the
same letter as a previous search I made, it shows. And I would like to know
how to clear the history in Search. People have told me to clear it through
Deleting history on Internet Explorer, but it doesn't affect it. I'm using XP
by the way.

Thank you :)

there are a couple of ways
to clear them.

but i think by far the
easiest is to use a freeware
called freeware called ccleaner.

for the time it would
take to manually clear out
that information yourself,
you can click a couple of buttons
in ccleaner and clean out a
number of areas in windows.

however you have the option
to choose which ones you want
to clear/clean and which
to ignore.

also, the utility also provides
the option to set it for military
style deletion.

You can use CCLeaner :
http://www.ccleaner.com

Or you can manually delete the items one-by-one by selecting the item in autocomplete
menu and pressing Delete button
OR from the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru

Good Luck, Ayush.

That's an interesting prob Bazza. Have you tried this. Go to Help and click
on Options. Disable ' Match similar words ' Hope it works.

Bazza I think I've got it. Go to Search and then ' mywebsearch ' and in the
menu you'll see ' clear history of Search terms ' If you click on that it
should solve your problem.
