Explorer cannot be repaired

I have been having problems with explorer. When I try to
repair it I constantly get the following error message:

Explorer 6 cannot be repaired due to the following errors:

Version 6.0.2722.900 of the file pngfilt.dll exists
but the version needs to be greater than 6.0.2800.1100

I have tried three times to reinstall explorer but
continuously get the same message. I have searched the
data base and was unable to receive any information of
this error. Can anyone help me?

You might want to reinstall IE6. Before you do that,
download another browser from download.com. There is a
great one called SlimBrowser, it's superior to IE. Then
you need to change the registry value by using regedit
(Start, Run, type in regedit, click OK) Then locate the
following site HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft,
Installed Components, 44BBA848-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C
Click on IsInstalled click on Edit , then Modify and
change the value to 0 Close regedit, then download
IE6 SP1 at this site
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6s
p1/default.asp
Reboot the machine.

Ray,

I'm a little confused here do I have to download this
other browser? I really don't want fool around with
loading another browser.If I just want to reinstall IE6
what would I have to do and what registires would need to
be changed so that I could get the updated dll that I am
missing?
