Not really enough information.

Sounds like you have done some installing/uninstalling of applications and
you need to decide what you want, uninstall what you don't want and install
the latest version of what you do want.

It is not Windows XP SP2 that is 'doing this' to your computer.

Control Panel --> Add or Remove programs...
That's where you can uninstall things.

When you say 'explorer gone' - I am guessing you mean Internet Explorer?
And what do you mean by gone... And what do you mean by "Explorer Bar"?

Please describe what you expect to see and don't see in detail... You have
to paint a picture of this because I cannot see what you see. Your
terminology and mine may be very different.

Hi Kirsty,
A quick peek on your Qs history, if i understood correctly, you installed
the IE7?, is that aright?.
If you did, then to get the Google Search back do the following:

1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab then click on Settings button opposite the search option.
On the Change search defaults if you can see the Google option listed then
you can Highlighted it and click on Set default button. If it isn't there you
can Add it by clicking on the Link (Blue link) titled " Find more
Providers..." and you will find a list of search engine providers one of them
Google and you can install it.

Hi Kirsty,
I think you have the Plug-ins search engine not the toolbar!.
Please visit the link below and download the prevoius version for IE not the
Beta version Google offer it on this link.
Google Toolbar Download link for IE:
http://toolbar.google.com/T4/index.html
After downloading you can select custom install and uncheck any extra
feature(s) you don't want to install on your browser.
