I have a virus in the "filesnamedmru" key under Internet
explorer (hkey_users). Want to delete the key. Will this
hurt my functionality of Internet Explorer? Thanks

You cannot have a virus in a Registry key.
I assume you only have a reference to a virus in a key or value.

You don't give the exact name of the key so you make it difficult but
if it is a normal MRU list, then it can be deleted, e.g.
"HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Doc
Find Spec MRU" entries are only history of Find and can be deleted.

Please supply the exact key (and possinly operating system) if you
want more information.
