Explorer 7 deletes preferences

I'm now using Explorer 7. I noticed that after closing Explorer, the
preferences i've set up with various sites are deleted. For example, i set
my preferences for Google to display 100 results per page. This worked fine
for years. Now, though, i have to reset my Google preferences every time i
start Explorer.

I assume that, somehow, cookies are being deleted and with them go my
preferences. I already added Google as a "managed site" to always allow
cookies, but this doesn't help.

How can i fix this?

IF you are actually asking about Internet Explorer 7 then the correct
newsgroup is
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
