explorer 6.0 does not save with extension

no way, I already try everything, there is no full stop
in the file name but still if I change the original name
of a picture from a web page, explorer will save it as an
unknown file...

Try:
Clear the IE cache from IE> Tools> Internet
Options> General> Delete files and Delete offline content. Reset the TIF
folder size to about 50MB (Settings button) and clear it occasionally.
