expiry date problem on MSAS update

R

Ron

Ihave just completed an installation of MSAS on a new machine (XPH SP2).
After installing MSAS on one logon profile, I went to the 2nd profile and
noticed that MSAS was NOT running. At that point I attempted to run the
update and got the message "The Microsoft Internal Beta version of Microsoft
AntiSpy has expired as of July 5, 1931. Please contact Microsoft for an
updated version"

1931!?!?!?!?!?!? That's VERY interesting.....but the first profile is
running just fine!!!!.

Any clues?????

Best Regards, Ron

Check the date format settings for the locale. I didn't know these were
profile-specific, but perhaps they are. There are long and short date
formats, and they are a drop-down box. In each case, select the topmost
choice from the dropdown. This seems to cure this issue in most, but not
all cases. I think it'll work for you--the cases where it doesn't work are
locales where it shouldn't work for any profile.

Checked profile date settings and all appears in order however no drop down
boxes...was this in Windows settings or MSAS. Can't find any errors that are
obvious.

OK--let me give you the step-by-step:

1) check date and time and be sure they are correct.

2) control panel, date, time, language and regional options--regional and
language options

regional options tab/page, click customize, click on the date tab. There
you will find the two drop down controls for short date and long date.
Reset each to the topmost choice.
