Expanding folders & files command - gonzo?

Hi all,

earlier we used to have a command such as

C:\Windows\explorer.exe /n,/e, [disc\folder]

and when clicked it would show in the left pane a fully expanded folder, and in the righthand pane
all containing files.

Also the expanded folder would begin to open just under the roof of the Explorerframe, remember?

Very neat display of what's in the folder and files.

I tried and tried to achieve this under my new Vista Home Premium - is this an other goodie gone?

Curious,

Maria

Hi Maria. This works for me, just as you described (even the "roof of the
Explorer frame" part), for example:

C:\Windows\explorer.exe /n,/e, C:\Program Files

To test the above, right-click a blank spot on your desktop, and choose New
Shortcut. Copy and Paste the above command in the Location box. Give it
a name in the next screen, like "Explore Program Files". Of course, the
[disc\folder] part can be whatever you want.

BTW, you are going to be a Vista expert by tomorrow, at the rate you are
going.

Well dean-dean let me tell you - I took 2 days off to very very deeply & quickly get acquainted with
this new toy - rather than waste days and days of struggling and aggro later and not getting my work
done in my SOHO.

So far I have been struggling with accounts and gave up - running as an admin now and shut off UAC.
We'll see about that later.

The commandline I will test later - it worked on a few occasions but other times the folder would
open but NOT sit on top...

Ciao
Maria
