Exlamation Point Key

Last week, my exclamation point just stopped working. the funny thing is
that the 1 key works fine as I just typed it now. All other keys and key
combinations work fine, it's just this one. I've tried both shift keys in
order to see if it was simply that, but nope. Anyone out there heard of this?

I'm using an HP 5115nr notebook

you can run osk.exe and see
if that x'point works with the mouse.
it can also parallel your regular kb..

but it may be that you'll need a warranty
replacement of the kb by hp.

as a suggestion, i use a plain & cheap
usb keyboard for my notebook, since
those itty-bitty notebook keys wear's
down my spell checker and patience..

thanks, I did run osk.exe and sure enough it still doesn't work. What do you
mean about it paralleling my regular kb?

if you press the physical key
the on screen keyboard will reflect
the action.

it doesn't sound like a hardware problem
and may be an issue with software, ie
driver....

another test is to see if it works in
safemode.
