EXE files that won't open

Windows XP will not open exe files from the desktop. How
do I configure XP to open them and which program are they
2 be associated to?

EXE files are "EXEcutables" ... they are the programs. You don't
associate these files with other programs. There is no need to "open"
them. what are you trying to do?

them. what are you trying to do?

Just wanted to run the programs however windows xp didn't
recognise the file type and brought up the "open with"
dialogue box. I wasn't sure if u could associate them
with anything & wanted 2 check if that was the case. Will
apply the fix above thanx Ramesh
