Exclusive Windows Anti-Spyware development to be dropped?

Recently, Neowin has acquired some insider information
stemming from a Windows One Care (WOC) beta chat. Below
is a snippet of a question asked by a user:

QUOTE
User: Will Anti-spyware survive as a separate app once
Windows One Care (WOC) is released?

(Ms Expert Name): Your MS antispwyare beta has an
expiration date, beyond which it will no longer be
supported. WOC does have plans to integrate Antispyware
in the future

What this means, is that its very likely that the
development of the current Microsoft antispyware program
will be dropped until it becomes integrated into Windows
One Care. Due to the fact that Windows One Care will be
subscription based, the Microsoft antispyware tool will
no longer be free. Users will be required to pay annually
to use Microsoft's Anti-Spyware tool along with some
other Helpful Windows tools.

Your lack of proper quotes adds to the already incorrect and misleading
information.
The reference would have helped also:
http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=29891&category=main
According to the link, the MS expert quote ends at "...integrate Antispyware
in the future"
The commentary by the poster begins at "What this means, is..."
That is nothing more than a commentary by an uninformed individual.
There is nothing to suggest that person has any information to support the
claims made.

Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta is...Beta.
Typically Microsoft has time limits for pre-release software including Beta.
So the fact the Beta expires means nothing other than it will
expire...nothing more.
Other than the usual fantasies of Neowin, there is no other reference that I
know of for this ridiculous claim.
Typical journalism for him along with the FUD.

This article does support one thing.
People should honour the disclosure agreements so as not to make a fool of
themselves by improperly disclosing partial information.

either beta 1 user got trick into thinking this
antispyware is going to be free so we can all use it and
make it better by reporting bugs, ever since the comment
from billg announcing it's going to be free or alot of
other company on antispyware is complaing about it being
free. What a waste of time reporting bugs and risking on
reinstalling os.

Looking at the site, you are not the only one.
Many others also seem to miss the division between fact and speculation
(fiction in this case).

Well. I must store this :')

At the RSA conference, Bill Gates announced the consumer and enterprise
strategy for Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware.

"The personal version of the final Windows AntiSpyware software (will
be) available at no additional charge to licensed Windows customers as
part of the Windows value proposition. The offering will offer full
functionality to consumers, including the ability to detect and remove
spyware, continual protection that helps guard against more than 50
ways that Web sites and programs can put spyware on a PC, and
protection against the latest threats through the combined efforts of
the SpyNetT community and Microsoft researchers. For business
customers, with more complex infrastructure support, management and
deployment needs, Microsoft plans a managed anti-spyware solution that
will be available as part of a paid solution."

We've had this discussion before--search the archives, if you've pulled this
into NNTP.
