Infected with what? As long as you run a firewall and antivirus software
you should not get "infected" by anything

I am sure you can sell your XP and buy Windows 98 if thats what you want to
do. What infections are you talking about?

Changing your OS won't stop YOUR infections. Might I suggest you be
more careful doing whatever causes YOUR infections, and then see a
physician for some antibiotics?
