Exchange Messages do not show up in Outlook

I am not sure if I should ask this here or in an Exchange group.

We use Exchange Server running on Windows 2000 Small Business Server.
We use Outlook 2000 as our mail client on all of our computers.
On the Windows 2000 computers, everything works properly, but on our
Windows XP computers, new messages do not appear in Outlook until you
change what folder you are looking at.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this available?
 
windows xp firewall causes that. In control panel/security center/firewall
settings, make an exception for the program outlook.exe
