excessive master browser polling

I have a small network 30 XP workstations 2 NT 4.0
Servers and one Win2000 server. Only 2 of the 30 XP
worksations are constantly trying to claim master browser
status and generating red alerts on the NT 4.0 primary
domain controller's event log. Is there a way to turn
the polling off on the XP machines?

This is YOUR network? You are the admin? *sigh*

I would suggest turning off their computer browser service. Set it to
manual or disabled. If they (the end users) are not using Network
Neighborhood to find anything (and browsing is still on for the servers and
they USE the servers), this will not be a problem.

This can be accomplished many ways, but being a computer admin, you must
know how to use Google.. Web Ferret, search engines?

Set up and use a WINS server, have all machines within
the same domain (not just workgroup set to the same name).
