except excel and word

I've noticed quite a delay opening word 2000 and excel
2000. Turn off the Beta version and the issue goes away.
We've had to remove the program from several computers
because the delay annoys important people in the company
who open and close these types of files all day. They
complain that it is like being on a Pentium 166 again.

Is there any specific way we can create an exception for
Excel and Word? I looked at the real time settings but
nothing jumps out at me as to how to fix this problem.

This is an issue that has been noted since the beginning of the beta. I
don't think we have a fix for it. It happens to relatively few machines--if
you are seeing it on a number of machines, you might check on whether it is
an issue with some other specific driver or software in common to those
machines.

I can only say don't use the beta if HP printers or
Scanners are involved or symantec products, i noticed by
several people slowing down of performance when using
these products, sometimes the computer won't even
startup, deinstallation of the beta solved the troubles.
It will be time to come with a better beta. Even i with a
+ 3 ghz pentium 4 pc notice a slow down in performance
when using the Beta1.

We have a fix for some issues relating to Symantec products.

I've noticed a few HP-related issues.
