I typed a big list in excell, then exported or imported
into word to do addresses, now I can't open either file.
can someone help me with his one.

If you saved the file while it was opened in Word there is nothing you can
do
except open it in Word and copy and paste back into Excel

Hi Ann,
I guess even running regular backup would not protect you
if you created the file and destroyed the file all in the same day.
But you could have Excel create the backup of the Excel file
for you. http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/backup.htm
and then the backup is always one save prior to your save.

You might backup the directory it is in if not too large so that
you may have something to fall bak on if you make things worse
now in trying to recover..

Look in the directory for files without a file extension then
select file, right click, open using Excel

The normal way to print labels starting from Excel is to use
Mail Merge, and then you would not have had your current
problem.
