Excel table from access sorting problem

I created an Excel97 table by transfering data from an
Access97 table successfully. I could sort the new table
but when I add new records they will not sort into the
original excel table of access data. What am I doing wrong?
 
Jadd,

The most likely thing is that you have text from the Access table and
numbers you're adding. They sort differently.
