excel/some text auto repeats in same columb others don't why.

I use excel 2000 for accounting I use text. Some words in the same columb
will auto rpeat after one or two letters others will not e.g. word deposit.
How can I fix this to save time.
 
I think this is a feature designed to save you time! If excel comes across
what looks like a previous entry in that column, it 'suggests' it to you. If
it is not the word you want, then simply carry on typing.
