excel shut down

I am taking an online copmuters course and creating a spreadsheet in excel. I
ahve all the info in it and then am instructed to put in a fill color and
then change the font color. When I go to change the font color a box comes up
that says " a problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close and notify you if a solution is found." I can't figure it
out and need to fix it to finish the assignment. It happens on any excel page
I try to start. What do I need to do to fix this?

I notice this was Feb 2008. I am also experiencing this problem. Anyone
know of a solution? Is it an HP problem?

Just in case you are still struggling. I've just completely unistalled and
re-installed my HP Photosmart C4280 printer and the problem has gone away.

Read something somewhere about it being an HP problem but didn't believe it
until now.
