Excel Not Responding

After opening Excel, we try to 'Save As' but the programs hangs, and we get a
'Not Responding' error. We did try this article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/918165 but we're
stillexperiencing problems.

Any ideas?

not sure if it will help but try to see if there are any shortcuts in my
network places that no longer exist and try deleting them.
