Excel files transferred to XP system

I just bought a new computer and without realizing it, it has the Microsoft
XP system on it and I am unable to open any of my files created with
Microsoft ME. Can anyone help me with this?
 
To open Excel files, you need to have Excel on the system. XP does not
automatically come with Excel
