We save or Excel files in the default location "My Documents" A few

Either you or someone else posted this a while ago. I responded and
asked: what is the virus/malware status of this computer? If you think
it is clean what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
I don't believe I got an answer, or I missed it.

So I'm asking you (if you in fact are the Original Poster) again.

Make sure your computer is virus-free since the symptoms you describe
can be caused by a virus.

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).

In addition: Create a sub-folder in 'My Documents' titled
possibly 'Excel Files" and change to where Excel saves files.

Better NOT to mix Excel files with the junk that gets into 'My
Documents' and is much easier to track.

My 2 1/2 cents worth.

It was me who posted this message before. I'm sorry I thought this was
a different group but turns out to be the same one. I will run a
Virus/Malware scan next time I am at the site as her Norton is expired
at this point.Thanks.
