excel file suddenly 129MB's

I have a fairly large file, maybe 15 sheets of data, 7-8 sheets of charts.
it's usually 4-5 MB's but all of a sudden it grew to a massive file size and
is very slow on saves now. This happened once before and it crashed, but
excel recovered my work like new and it went back to it's original file size.
Should I force a auto-recover again, if so how can I do that. NOTE* I do not
use macros. Thanks for the help

Hi,

What version of Excel are you using?

Keep in mind the bitmap images can bloat a file, so if you have any of these
try converting them to JPG or something else.

If your charts link the external files that will cause this bloat. Make
sure if poss the charts link to cells on the same sheet, or at least in
the same workbook.

Cheers
