Excel file donesn't convert properly to .csv

Hi all,
I am having trouble trying to import an excel (.xls) into my
addresses book in both windows xp outlook express and windows vista
mail.
As there seems to be no option to import the excel directly into the
address book I tried to save the excel as a .csv as there seems to be
this option. It is not working properly. I am thinking maybe I have to
format the columns or something.
I attach the excel file here on this link http://tinyurl.com/5qpooz
where I have left only a couple of changed contacts to see if anyone
can please help to find out what is going on and what I need to do to
change it so I can save it as a .csv or whatever it needs. The actual
file has about 700(!) contacts on it. It was exported from an outlook
in another computer. I can't seem to sort it out and would be very
greatful if someone could please give me a hand, Thank-you in
advance!!

I'd suggest you Export the addresses from the e-mail program as .CSV in
the first place, and leave Excel out of the mix.

I would like to I had access to the computer all I have is the excel
unfortunately and no way of getting it exported properly as they are
on holiday!

What I think may be the problem is what I have read on the web about
needed to add single quotes into the entries on the excel file, I know
it came with them but I had to change all the entries and I think they
may have got lost on the way. Really the problem is getting the csv
to recognize the different columns, there doesn't seem to be a csv
forum anywhere, quite why outlook doesn't import excel files is
strange.

In that case Export the address book from the computer you are planning
to import to, and then use that as an example to edit the file you have.
A lot more work but that's what you will have to do to get it functioning.
