Excel document crash

Linda

I was working on an excel document and received an error
that closed the program. Now when I try to open the
document, the "read-0nly" box appears noting that the
document is being edited. My changes were not saved
before the crash. Does anyone know if I can find the
document I was working on?

Hi Linda,

You probably have a hidden instance of Excel left running on your
computer as a result of the crash. Reboot the computer and it should solve
that problem. As far as I know there is no way to recover any work that you
did prior to the last time you saved the document. That's why I advise
people to always save early and often whenever a file is being edited. The
Ctrl+s shortcut key is the easiest way to do this.
