excel detail lost on word doc

I had inserted an excel display onto a word document from the toolbar, using and saving frequently. Crashed once and got a recovery message and prompted to report to microsoft. Continued to use the spreadsheet as previous without difficulty, closed the application that night and NOW IT'S GONE! All the cell detail is gone. Where is it? IS IT HIDING

I am assuming you were using an Excel object in a Word document.

This object corruption has happened to us many times. On all documents w/Excel objects we use the Open and Repair option when opening a document. This helps prevent this from happening. Hope this helps
