Excel Database

Hi Everybody

Can I just start by saying that I know this forum has a preference for
Access to be used as a database, Access drives me mad and I have stopped
trying to use it and probably never will again, hours and weeks have just
disappeared in the frustration of trying to learn how to access - Access.
I prefer all things Excel, can somebody please guide me in the right
direction I'm using FP2003 and Office 2007 Student - how would I use these
two programs to set up a database on my tiny simple website that does not
have FP Extensions switched on. I already have my Excel Workbook set up in
fact its already on my website but of course it won't run the ID macro that
works wonderfully well on my PC and when I visit my website -- others who
have tried have told me they cannot get it to work. Thanks for reading my
tripe & gripe just hope you can help.

First you don't need to really know or understand how to use Access, as the database is just used as
a data store on the web. Excel is single user application, thereby so is it's file format, whereas
Access is a multi-user application, thereby so is it file format, and a web site is multi-user.

In either case Access or Excel the actual application is not use on the web.

It you want user to link directly to a interactive Excel file, then your site must be hosted on a
Windows IIS web server with the Office Web Components installed and each user must have a copy of
Excel or the Excel Reader installed on their PC.
