Excel cannot find match

Using Excel 2003. Excel cannot find match for data that exists in
spreadsheet when using the Find command. Any fixes?

Perhaps Excel cannot find a match and doesn't need fixing.

Your data may need fixing.

Do you have extra spaces in the data?

Are you looking for "entire cell contents"

Are you looking for an exact match as in case-sensitive?

Are you looking in formulas when you should be looking in values?

See the available options under Edit>Find "Options>>" button.

make sure the curser is on one cell only (if multiple

cells are highlighted, it will only search in those cells)

294.10. The number exists in a list of numbers in the spreadsheet but Excel
2004 does not find it. I get a message "Microsoft Office Excel cannot find

Correction to clairify my response:

The answer to all of the following questions is "no." I'm selecting only
one cell in the spreadsheet and I am searching for a number. For example:
294.10. The number exists in a single cell without any specail formattting
but Excel 2003 does not find it. I get a message "Microsoft Office Excel

My guess.

You have a value of 294.1 in the cell--but it's formatted to show 294.10.

Try searching for the value--not what's displayed.

Watchout for 24.099999 in the cell, too.

That could cause heartache and grief.

Open a new blank workbook.

Enter 294.10

Edit>Find

Set Options to "Sheet" "Values"

Can Excel find that?
