Excel Advance Sorting Problem

Excel is NOT sorting correctly. I have a 4 column spreadsheet wit
1200 rows. I highlight the entire worksheet to sort and column C doe
NOT move, but stays in place, while the other columns (a, b, and d) d
sort correctly. I have also tried sorting on selected rows and it'
the same result - column C is NOT sorting!

Column C has data, but also has pop-up boxes (via the Data & Validatio
- input message). Does putting data & validation into th
Data-Validation option, stop excel from sorting these?

I am using the Data - Validation option in Excel to (1) validate th
entry of the cell and (2) show further detail of what is expected (mor
narrative).

I am open to workarounds on this? Seems that the Data-Validatio
info, just stays in place and the value in the cell gets sorted. Th
data validation info, though, stays in the original cell location.

Any Microsoft Engineers want to address this? Workarounds
