Excel -access Violation- Help!!

Can anyone clue me in as to what this means????

This occurs when Excel is started. Excel will not open
and gives this error message:
EXCEL.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005),
Address: 0x30026d69

This is what the log file states:

Application exception occurred:
App: (pid=263)
When: 10/15/2003 @ 10:59:4.843
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)


Also, any suggestions to fixing or repairing this problem
is greatly appreciated!!

This problem is occuring with Excel 2000, which has been
installed through Microsoft Office 2000. I have
unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. I have also
attempted the repair feature.
