Excel 97 locking up on XP pro

We are developing a large spreadsheet in excel 97 on our
XP Pro box. It has a 1 GB of memory and lots of disk space.

There are serveral macros in this spreadsheet and when we
run the sheet it will tell us it is out of memory. I find
this rather strange as the sheet will run on Win98 with
128Mb of ram.

Is there any know problems with excel 97 on XP pro.

Stating the obvious - what do the Excel/Office newsgroup experts have
to say about this? Only asking as 1) What does this have to do with
networking? 2) How does this related to Windows XP other than Excel
is running on Windows XP, but it could as easily been Win2k, WinME,
Win95, Win2k3 Server?
