Excel 97 crashes when trying to save to the network

I am working on a rather large file about 17mb and every
so often I try to save the file and Excel crashes, does
not save my file and gives a dr.watson error "Excel.exe
exception: access violation (0x0000005, 0x0,...) address:
0x300eedb8. I have looked everywhere I know to look for
this error and have found nothing. Can anyone help?

It's related to the network and could be happening due to
net traffic at save time, antivirus software interference,
flakey card, cable, etc. Suggest you save these large
files locally first and then copy up to network outside of
excel. 17Mb on a slow network or traffic intense one can be
trouble.
