Hi there,

On two different machines, both running Vista Business and Office
2007, Excel crashes when exiting if there is a workbook. When first
closing all workbooks and exiting, there is no crash.

Eventlog shows the following entry:

Hi,
Excel crasches from time to time. Mostly on exit. The strange thing about
is, that I am using outlook 2003 on a Windows Vista macine, instat of Office
2007 as mangened before by other people in this newsgroup. I olso see a
problem whit te OLEAUT32.dll in the eventlog just like the others.

Folks,
I had this problem on a Dell Inspiron 9100 notebook running WinXP
Pro and Office 2007. The problem continued to occur until I allowed
an error report to be sent to Microsoft. Once this was done, the
error has not occured since. Go figure?

Folks,
Please disregard the previous message. The problem has nothing to
do with allowing an error report to be sent to MS. Rather, the
problem deals with the Bluetooth COM add-in for Excel ("Send to
Bluetooth"). The problem stems from the fact that the Bluetooth add-
in tries to refer to my profile data at a hard-wired folder location
of "C:\Documents and Settings\gomer\My Documents\Bluetooth Exchange
Folder". However, I have relocated my profile to another HDD.
Obviously, the folder location should not be hardcoded. The way I
eliminated the problem was to disable the Bluetooth COM add-in (Send
to Bluetooth) within Excel 2007. This is done via the "Add-ins"
section of the "Excel Options". By the way, the "Send to Bluetooth"
add-in refers to "C:\Windows\system32\btsendto_office.dll", which I
believe was produced by/for Broadcom.

Another way to solve the problem is to leave the add-in enabled and
create a dummy folder path in "Documents and Settings". I do not know
the ramifications of doing this.
Thanks,
Gomer

Folks,

OK - One more post to clear up a secondary mistake (sorry) that I
made in haste. I've discovered that the problem does not go away if
you create a dummy folder path in "Documents and Settings". I noticed
in my system that I had left an empty folder at "C:\Documents and
Settings\gomer" when I originally moved my profile. If I remove this
folder entirely, then I do not get the crash on exit - even if the
Bluetooth add-in is enabled.

I've been dealing with this problem for a week. I've almost tried to go back on a 2003 version, but I rather decided to find help over the internet. However, most of the people think that the problem is in one file, but it isn't. For me, Gomer gave us the only solution. Bluetooth was a problem. So, when I got rid of the Bluetooth Add-in, Excel was working and still working just fine.
Gomer, thank you a lot!!!

Greetings from Croatia
