Excel 2000 templates won't open

When I try to open any of the templates in Excel 2000 I
get the following error message: "The workbook contains a
type of macro (Microsoft Excel version 4.0 macro) that
cannot be disabled nor signed. Therefore, this workbook
cannot be opened under High Security Level."

I have tried to changed my security settings but it
doesn't help. When I go back into the secuity tab the
settings are always back to high.

Do you close excel after you change that setting?

If you are, don't.

If you don't, then for some reason, your choices aren't being kept. Sometimes
IT departments hold tight control over you. You may want to ask your IT help
desk why you can't save this setting in the registry.

(Assumes you're working in a corporate environment.)
