Exam software from Total Seminars will not open

I have a disk, from Mike Meyers CompTIA A+ Book, that has exam practice
questions on it. Well the exam part of the disk will not down load to my
computer. I called their help line and they emailed me a copy of the program
and this program still would not load. It is a self contained java program.
When I try to load the program it goes to the run screen for 3 seconds and
then the screen disappears and nothing else happens. I have XP Professional
and Windows Live OneCare.

Update to the latest version of Java.

You want JRE 6 Update 12.

If that doesn't work for you, I'm afraid you'll need to talk to the exam
practice software tech support people again. They are really the only ones
who should know what's going on. If you already have the latest Java, it's
possible they hard-coded for an obsolete version of Java.
