The HD have 1 primary partition (2GB) 1 logic partition
300MB and 200Mb of free space.

Why the EWF doesn't function????

Alex,

Your logical partition filled whole space in extended partition.
EWF probably tried to create EWF partition in extended partition and failed.

You should use primary partitions.
Create two-three primary partitions and leave some space unpartitioned.
Or leave some space unpartitioned in extended partition. Choice is yours.
