EWF Ram Registry

E

Eric Patterson

I built a seperate machine and installed all the xpe development tools onto
it. On the old one I had service pack 1 and all the qfe's then service pack
2 and all the qfe's. Well on the new one, I only did service pack 2 and all
the qfe's after sp2. I am using a component in my image called "EWF Ram
Registry" and with my new machine, during a build it bails saying I don't
have this component. Well it is right, I don't have this component anymore.
How do I fix this? Do I not need the seperate Component anymore and just
the EWF manager and api?

Hi Eric. The "EWF Ram Registry" component is not a component that we
provide in any of the XPe databases. This component would have been
imported from a third-party SLD file that you may have obtained from a site
such as WindowsForDevices.com or Sean Liming's site. You should be able to
import the same SLD file into your SP2-based system, and it should work
correctly for you.

In case it doesn't: Since SP2 introduced many changes and some fixes were
made to the EWF components, you may want to re-make your EWF RAM Reg
component (or check for updates on the third-party sites) to make sure that
it is in line with the SP2 version of EWF. Take a look at this resource for
more information:

Hope this helps. =)
